I was putting away laundry today and figured it would be a fun little exercise to come up with a capsule wardrobe for the last couple of weeks of March (giving me time to think through April sewing plans a bit). I sometimes get a bit intimidated thinking through having to pick out a capsule wardrobe for a month, or three months, or whatever, so a limited time is helpful for making me focus. Also, I can usually stick to something with a shorter timeframe, given my short attention span, so it helps me feel like I can actually finish it!
Basic themes are:
caramel, black, red, cream
layering with blazers and cardigans
graphic tees
always a few me-mades in the mix!
This all started primarily because I wanted to plan out my clothes for the week, so I did a little playing around with paper dolls, and came up with my next week’s worth of outfits.
Overall, a little dressier than my normal life, but it’s hard to strike a good balance between only leaving my house to go to the gym, and being a professional grown-up. Let’s see how I do!
Have you ever used or considered using an app like Stylebook? I think it’s been around for a while. I started using it recently. I was feeling a bit of closet chaos. 😀
It has a feature called Looks. Theoretically, you can create and save an entire outfit using this feature. If you use the Calendar feature, you can easily record what you wore that day without selecting each item by selecting something from Looks.
I don’t use Looks on the Calendar - what I wear is too variable. I like to use Looks to save some collections of what goes with what. Sometimes I forget that some of my things go with another of my things. When I saw your photos, I thought that this app might be something you’d have fun with. Since it’s on my phone, I can look at it during dead time in a waiting room or some such.
